7075 Aluminum Plate for ABC Pillars by Hot Stamping

Compared with the traditional stamping process, the hot stamping process has the following advantages:

1. Enhance the stamping and forming performance of 7075 aluminum plate, so that stamping parts with complex structures can be formed in one piece without disassembly.

2. The use of high-strength aluminum alloy sheet is integrally formed, which can greatly reduce the internal strengthening plate of the structure under the same performance conditions, simplify the number of parts, and avoid the connection of multiple components.

3. The number of dies is reduced, the tonnage of the presses of the stamping equipment is reduced, and there is no need to consider the springback compensation of the parts when designing the dies and parts.

The trial production of 7075 aluminium plate for hot stamping of automobile ABC column is divided into two parts:

1. The production of 7075 aluminum alloy

We have optimized the chemical composition and production process to reduce the quenching sensitivity of 7075 alloy and increase the solid solution temperature of the alloy, thereby increasing the elongation of the finished part and reducing its corrosion sensitivity.

2. The hot stamping and subsequent processing

Blank material → furnace heating (solution) → furnace discharge → stamping forming → quenching (quenching in cold mold) → discharge → aging. Robots are used for feeding, discharging and stamping.

The processing requirements of 7075- H18 aluminum sheet

1. The solid solution temperature of 7075 alloy is usually around 473℃. It is expected that the over-firing temperature of the newly designed 7075 alloy will increase to around 500℃. The solid solution temperature range is limited at 460~520℃, the solution time is controlled at 5min.

2. The temperature rises from 26°C to 470°C. After the heat preservation of 5 minutes, the temperature drops from 468°C to 43 °C.

3. High temperature tensile performance
